as im writing this today, a peaceful rally (BERSIH) in support of free and fair elections just happened in the afternoon. the government got worked up about it and hired the police to block roads and put many in jail though the opposition and NGO assured that it was meant to be a peaceful rally. Just yesterday, I read through the many plagues God afflicted upon the Egyptians because Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites free from slavery. A verse that kept replaying in my head was "God hardened his heart"
"But i have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. You will set yourself against my people and will not let them go. "
